Healthy Orange Creamsicles

I don’t know about you but store-bought creamsicles have my childhood imprinted all over it! An orange sherbet and vanilla ice cream combo are definitely hard to beat! And where I’d love to just run to the store and buy them I thought I’d try my hand at a healthier version and they did not disappoint. Let me know what you think!

Large Oranges (I used navel because that’s what I found)

cup Greek yogurt

tsp vanilla extract (divided)

tsp honey (optional—and don’t use if your child is under 1-year-old)

Peel your oranges, slice them and add them to your blender along with 1 tsp of vanilla extract. If you have a Vitamix that would be preferable but if not just blend till it’s a smooth puree.

In a mixing bowl add your Greek yogurt, 1 tsp of vanilla extract, 1 tsp of honey and whisk till combined.

Fill your popsicle mold a third of the way with your orange puree. Add the yogurt mixture to the top to fill the rest of your mold. With a chopstick or knife push the yogurt gently down around the edges to get any air between the yogurt and orange puree out. This will then slightly combine the yogurt to the puree. Or if you’d prefer to let the “cream” take over give it a few swirls to mix it up!

Place them in the freezer overnight.

It might be a little tart if your throat is sore… but you could do a half and half blend by adding more yogurt. That might help xxxx

These sound delicious! I’m curious though…what type of popsicle tray molds do you use? I have a cheap set and my 2 yo son didn’t realize the sticks are reusable and threw half of ours away so I might have to buy a new set and yours look fun!
