Scented Body Oil

After my children were born, I became acutely sensitive to smell. Someone wearing too much perfume or cologne would send me over the edge and literally give me a headache. I love perfume don’t get me wrong, but I think there’s a right and wrong way to wear it.

Wrong way: douse yourself from head to toe.

Right way: spray one spritz in the air and walk through the mist.

Given that I do love a good, light smell, I’m also a huge fan of body oils. They multitask. Not only do they moisturize, but they nourish the skin while emitting a sweet, light, scent that wears into the skin nicely.

Here are a few of my favs:

Rodin : Was the first scented body oil I ever fell in love with. If you love the smell of jasmine and white flowers, then this one is for you. Not only does it smell heavenly but it nourishes the skin. “Made from a blend of 11 essential oils derived from flowers and botanicals, Rodin’s signature olio lusso is blended for a silky and intensely moisturizing formulation. Calming jasmine oil and jojoba provide the perfect skin softener, while evening primrose, neroli and calendula offer powerful anti-aging effects.”

CocoBaba Body Oil : Coconut oil for everything is my motto. I use this every day on my bust, belly and bottom. What I love about our oil is it doesn’t have this fake tropical smell like other coconut oil skincare products tend to lean towards. It has a very light yet sweet coconut smell. It’s not greasy and the skin absorbs it beautifully. “Our body oil is rich in essentials found in our natural coconut oil. It visibly softens the appearance of existing stretch marks and helps prevent them from developing if used regularly. At the same time, the skin is protected long-term against dehydration and helps preserve the elasticity of the skin. The lightly scented body oil is absorbed very quickly and leaves the skin feeling soft and supple.”

Herbivore:  I’m a little jasmine obsessed so I know a good jasmine scent to an imposter when I smell one. This is divine! I’m a pump away from draining this bottle! “Get luminous, seriously hydrated skin with this luxe all-natural body oil from Herbivore Botanicals. Handmade plant-based formula that nourishes the skin, combined with essential oils to give each an intoxicating scent. Gently massage into your skin for silky, glowing skin.”

Tata Harper:  I’m just a big fan of Tata Harper in general. “A luxurious, fast-absorbing body oil that provides comprehensive age-defying, hydrating, and restorative benefits to the entire body. This luxurious body oil helps reduce redness while moisturizing and relieving dry, rough patches. Skin is left feeling soft, silky, and rejuvenated.
The formulation is powered by 24 high-performance ingredients, including alfalfa extract, which provides a revitalized appearance; arnica extract, which helps reduce the appearance of puffiness for a toned look; grapeseed oil, which provides beta carotene, essential fatty acids, and vitamins D, C and E; and geranium and grapefruit, which tone the skin.”

Caudalle Divine Multi-purpose Dry Oil : “This multi-use, luxurious dry oil moisturizes, nourishes and enhances thanks to its unique formula made with an exceptional blend of oils (grape, hibiscus, sesame and argan) combined with our patented anti-oxidant Polyphenols. It envelops the skin with a subtle, floral and sun-kissed fragrance, with woody notes.”

Yes, I had the same problem with sensitivity to smell with perfumes. I couldn’t stand it anymore. They give me headaches every time I walk by the perfume sections in the department stores. I used to love wearing perfumes when I was in high school. I guess things have changed since I became a mommy of 5 kids and my sensitivity to smell have changed! ha So, I’ve stopped wearing any scented smell such as body lotions and perfumes. I prefer using unscented body lotion that works well for me.
