I recently shared how Mabel is becoming quite the craft aficionado. So much so that I put together a craft kit so we are ready whenever inspiration strikes! To be completely honest, having everything organized and in one place has definitely increased the frequency of Mabel’s artistic moments. Good clean fun that keeps little minds and hands busy?! Fueling Imagination… The Pipe Cleaner Princess

Summer is in full swing and it has been amazing to see the girls flourishing during our time here in California. They’re both learning to swim like fish and I think we are all embracing the more laid back California dreamin’ summertime. A new development for Mabel is how much longer she is able to engage on a particular project. Coloring has always been a favorite activity, but the time spent was about 5-10 minutes on the average. Now she can spend anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour whipping up her masterpieces. Not only does she love to color and paint, she is all-in for any type of crafting project (watch out, Martha Stewart!) and this mommy needs to step up her game…

Twice blessed…

I always envisioned having two kids. I’m an only child so one would have been fine but two was my dream. So when our sweet Evelyn Penn arrived 25 months after our first Mabel, I was tickled pink. I knew life with two would be challenging but in my head I had it all worked out. Now, I’m not sure what I was thinking as I know fair well trying to make civilized plans when kids are involved just does not exist. At least not in my world. Actually, what’s the saying? If you want to hear God laugh, tell him your plans.
