Mamahood
I had no clue what a lovey was till I started having kids. Mabel’s lovey was my breast. I tried pushing other soft warm things her way but she was not having it. With the birth of our second child Evelyn, at 2 months of age we introduced a lovey to her. Seeing that Evelyn didn’t find the same comfort in breastfeeding as her sister, she needed something.

What to do for a dad that has celebrated Father’s Day for the past 26 years? He’s been given and seen it all. Which means we have to get creative around here. We want the day to feel special and never looked over.

I’ve been known to do a craft or two at home with the kids. I’m not patting myself on the back because lets be honest, the ideas don’t flow through me magically. I stopped breastfeeding Evelyn when she was 3.5 months. So I’ve had to find other ways to get my up close and personal time in with her especially now since she is on the move. That wasn’t the route I was able to take with my second so I started to get serious about babywearing.

My eldest daughter Mabel has turned three. And with the big 3 in our sights we knew that would be when we made the transition from crib to bed. I’d been feeling some low-grade anxiety about making this change for some time. And with the comments and pressure of others saying ”I can’t believe she’s still in her crib,” well I pushed all that aside because no ones knows the kind of sleeper we have and why the crib has been so important for us.
