The Emma & Bruce Willis Fund was created with a cl The Emma & Bruce Willis Fund was created with a clear vision: a world where frontotemporal dementia is understood, and every caregiver has the support they need to thrive.
This work matters deeply to me. I’ll continue to raise awareness, support research, and stand beside families navigating this journey.

Just 14 states to go! FTD Awareness Week 2026 is Just 14 states to go!
FTD Awareness Week 2026 is September 28 - October 4 and we are so close to having it officially recognized in all 50 states through a proclamation or resolution.
AFTD is leading this effort, which raises FTD’s visibility with policymakers and the public. So, if you live in one of the 14 states that hasn’t officially recognized the week*, we need your help to make it happen for the first time. And, if you’re in one of the 36 states that passed a proclamation or resolution in past years (great work!) we need you to renew it in 2026, because these recognitions don’t always carry over.
You won’t be doing this alone! The AFTD will guide you every step of the way. You can make a huge difference in educating policymakers and the public about FTD. Email advocacy@theaftd.org to get started.

Today we celebrate Bruce’s birthday. 💙 This j Today we celebrate Bruce’s birthday. 💙
This journey with frontotemporal dementia (FTD) has opened my eyes to the realities so many families face. It’s what inspired me to create The Emma & Bruce Willis Fund to raise awareness of FTD, support research, and stand beside the caregivers who carry so much every day.
If you’d like to honor Bruce today, please consider supporting the fund or another organization working in this space, or simply checking in on a caregiver — a small act of kindness that can mean so much. 💙

Bruce and I received the Susan Newhouse & Si Newho Bruce and I received the Susan Newhouse & Si Newhouse Award of Hope, and I was deeply moved to be part of such a special, yet bittersweet moment. Having my mom and our two young daughters there made the evening incredibly powerful.
I was also proud to announce the launch of The Emma & Bruce Willis Fund for Dementia Research and Caregiver Support, with our first gift going to AFTD, an organization that has been supporting families affected by FTD since 2002.
Being in a room filled with families living with FTD, those who have lost someone to it, and the friends, advocates, and researchers working every day to bring greater understanding and progress to this disease was deeply profound.
Thank you to @theaftd for the extraordinary work you do every day for families navigating FTD, including mine, and for bringing such a beautiful evening to life. 🤍
