I recently shared how Mabel is becoming quite the craft aficionado. So much so that I put together a craft kit so we are ready whenever inspiration strikes! To be completely honest, having everything organized and in one place has definitely increased the frequency of Mabel’s artistic moments. Good clean fun that keeps little minds and hands busy?! I would call that a parental win. I don’t know why I didn’t do this sooner!

Summer is in full swing and it has been amazing to see the girls flourishing during our time here in California. They’re both learning to swim like fish and I think we are all embracing the more laid back California dreamin’ summertime. A new development for Mabel is how much longer she is able to engage on a particular project. Coloring has always been a favorite activity, but the time spent was about 5-10 minutes on the average. Now she can spend anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour whipping up her masterpieces. Not only does she love to color and paint, she is all-in for any type of crafting project (watch out, Martha Stewart!) and this mommy needs to step up her game…

Having kids has really brought back my excitement for national holidays. But what’s also exciting is to be able to reeducate myself on the meanings of all these holidays again. It’s amazing the new facts I’ve discovered that I missed first time round.

I’ve been known to do a craft or two at home with the kids. I’m not patting myself on the back because lets be honest, the ideas don’t flow through me magically. What naturally flows through me is paper and crayons craftiness. So I reference Pinterest for ideas, a lot. But then I got some good news for this artistically challenged mommy that has taken crafting to a whole new level.
